...of our lives is two-fold, to see people come to Christ, and to lead the body of Christ into His throne room through praise and worship...” say Joe and Becky Cruse, founders of Worshipworks Ministries International; a ministry devoted to demonstrating the power of God through worship and teaching of the Word. With a heritage rooted deep in Christian music, and three decades of ministry experience, the Cruses offer a unique, dynamic-celebration yet intimate-worship style, creating a solid platform upon which the glory of God easily falls.
Joe and Becky began ministering together in 1972 with Joe’s family. The Cruse Family, an evangelistic music ministry, traveled and ministered all over the world throughout the 70’s and 80’s. They released 25 albums during this time, and were the recipients of two coveted Dove Awards in 1978.
1989 found Joe and Becky needing to slow down and enjoy their children. In 1990, God planted them in Rockwall, Texas where the husband and wife duo were the Praise and Worship leaders for Church on the Rock until 1995.
Having met Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne and attending his crusade in the Dallas area, the strong fires of evangelism were stirred once again. In the spring of 1995, Joe and Becky made their first overseas trip to Australia with Brother Rodney’s ministry team, and continued with Revival Ministries International as Praise and Worship Leaders until September 1999.
In 2000, after 30 years of serving other ministers, the Cruses began City Worship Centre, in Austin Texas. The church has grown to over 300 and is home of Institute for the Arts, a post secondary school for worship leaders, and Austin City Academy, a K4-6th grade private Christian school with its focus in the arts.
“We couldn’t do what God has called us to without our three incredible children” says Becky. Jody, the oldest son, married his childhood sweetheart, Vanessa Archer and they are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Katelyn Grace. Ryan, the younger son, is married to a special lady, Tressa Whitmore. Jody and Ryan are associate pastors at the church and provide drums and bass for this third generation family ministriy. Allison, their daughter, is 11 years old and has made a place for herself in the family ministry as well. “What a wonderful experience to be able to minister and make music with my whole family...The mantle has been passed.”
